Recent Publications by Foundation-Funded Researchers

“The Necessity for Effective Interaction Between Basic Scientists and Rehabilitation Clinicians,” by Segal RL, Lewek MD, McCullock K, and Mercer VS, was published online in Cells, Tissues, Organs on March 11, 2011. Richard L. Segal, PT, PhD, received Doctoral Training Research Grants in 1985 and 1986. Michael D. Lewek, PT, PhD, was awarded a 2002 Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) II scholarship and the 2009 Geriatric Research Grant.

“Adequacy of Belt-Stabilized Testing of Knee Extension Strength,” by Bohannon RW, Bubela DJ, Wang YC, Magasi SR, and Gershon RC, was published online in the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research on March 9, 2011. Richard W. Bohannon, PT, EdD, NCS, received a Doctoral Training Research Grant in 1985.

“Ultrasonographic Measures of Subacromial Space in Patients With Rotator Cuff Disease: A Systematic Review,” by Amee L. Seitz, PT, MS, DPT, and Lori A. Michener, PT, PhD, ATC, was published in the Journal of Clinical Ultrasound (2011;39[3]:146–154). Seitz received a 2007 Florence P. Kendall Doctoral Scholarship and a 2008 PODS I scholarship. Michener was awarded a Doctoral Training Research Grant in 1997.
