Recent Publications by Foundation-Funded Researchers

“Enhancing Muscle Force and Femur Compressive Loads Via Feedback-Controlled Stimulation of Paralyzed Quadriceps in Humans,” by Dudley-Javoroski S, Littmann AE, Chang SH, McHenry CL, and Shields RK, was published in the Archives of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (2011;92[2]:242–249). Shauna Dudley-Javoroski, PT, MPT, was awarded a Promotion of Doctoral Studies (PODS) II scholarship in 2008, PODS I scholarships in 2006 and 2005, and a Mary McMillan Doctoral Scholarship in 2003. Andrew E. Littmann, PT, MA, NCS, received a PODS II scholarship in 2009, PODS I scholarships in 2008 and 2007, and a Florence P. Kendall Doctoral Scholarship in 2006. Richard K. Shields, PT, PhD, won Doctoral Training Research Grants in 1990 and 1989 and is a past member of the Foundation for Physical Therapy Board of Trustees and Scientific Review Committee.

“Depressive Symptoms, Anatomical Region, and Clinical Outcomes for Patients Seeking Outpatient Physical Therapy for Musculoskeletal Pain,” by George SZ, Coronado RA, Beneciuk JM, Valencia C, Werneke MW, and Hart DL, is published in this issue of Physical Therapy (2011;91[3]:358–372). Steven Z. George, PT, PhD, received a PODS II scholarship in 2001 and a PODS I scholarship in 2000.
